What is the manufacturing cost of composite steel pipe?
The result is a clad pipe with a corrosion resistant alloy (CRA) liner, such as Alloy 625, that is metallurgically bonded into the interior diameter of a less expensive host billet, such as X-65. The clad billet is then hot-extruded into the finished pipe, providing substantial cost savings when compared to a solid alloy or stainless pipe.
What does cladding mean in piping?
Cladding is a method that consists of joining two sheets, the base material (resisting all loads), and the corrosion-resistant material welded or fused by means of different procedures. Another method is the Weld Overlay, consists of welding (manually or automatically) a corrosion-resistant metal to the base metal.
